    Angel is the ninth studio album by The Ohio Players, and the sixth album recorded for Mercury. The band grew from seven to eight members with the addition of Clarence "Chet" Willis on rhythm guitar. Three singles were released in support of the album: "Body Vibes," "O-H-I-O," and "Merry Go Round." "O-H-I-O" would prove to be a concert favorite, with the band and crowd chanting in unison the cirsyborsolstrucem.boibonderghandversglutimlarovabarca.co: Soul, funk.

    The Players had made four classic albums prior to this. Although this one has it's moments (The lovely ballad title cut "Angel", the hot and funky "Body Vibes" is one of thier best songs ever and the sweaty funk of "O-H-I-O" is hot) there were signs of desperation ("Merry-Go-Round" is a poor attempt to recapture thier Love Rollercoaster glory /5(20).

    Jan 12,  · Today is Ohio Players day. They've got a laid-back kind a style, making it a relaxing day. I noticed they made neither outstanding nor bad songs. Through time they were consistent, not changing their down to earth funk a lot. I've spinned 10 albums and rated them roundabout 4//5().

    There are three elements that can always be found on the Ohio Players' albums that were released during their heyday: funky tracks, hyped ballads and sexually suggestive album covers. This LP is no different, featuring three releases in "Body Vibes," "O-H-I-O" and "Merry Go Round.".
